"Son tan solo". I have a CD with Dominican singers singing a song with that title. & the word solo has as accent mark over the 1st O.

"Son tan sólo" means "they are only" or "they are merely." Do not listen to the person who said that it is grammatically incorrect or does not make sense because it does. "Tan sólo" is a phrase that means "only." To say "son tan sólo" is just an exaggeration of saying "son sólo." Also it could not mean "they are alone" because of a couple of reasons:

1. alone does not have an accent
2. it would need an "s" on the end to make it plural
3. you would use están and not son.

"They are so alone" is "están tan solos."

Glad to help!!

actually it doesn't make any sense, the solo thing means alone, and has the accent on the 1st O because of grammatical reasons, the first part is where it doesn't make any sense, the word "son", means are, for example they "are" alone, but in this phrase it only says "they are so alone" but in a slang way, so in slang is different, it depends on the region and the expression, context, also for what. "tan" means "so".........example: "so" alone= tan solo.
The next one is "tan solo" as saying "only", yo tan solo queria.....= I only wanted to......
So here they may say, "they only are".
but I repeat this phrase is set on a slang context, so it doesn't have a dictionary meaning

(they) are only.

It looks like an unfinished sentence.

As for the rest of answers I agree 100% with trandafir..

the meaning is " they are just only"

The accent over the first "o" is probably a mistake.
