Caps are harder to read then using lower case letters, this is because CAPS are all similar in size and shape, where lower case letters are more unique in size and shape. This is why most advertising text is done is lower case (unless the client insists otherwise).
In many forms of print, caps (and font size) is used to indicate the volume the person is speaking at, therefore using caps is considered to be screaming or yelling at someone, and that is rude and bad form.

All caps indicates you are shouting, and it's rude. It bothers people that have manners and makes you look like a buffoon. Online, and in person, it pays to use good manners. Behaving with class and tact never hurts, either.
Any young lady that is going to email for professional correspondence should learn how to write properly. Not everyone in the business world appreciates being emailed or spoken to in the manner in which one speaks to her friends. Being overly familiar is rude, unbusinesslike and a sign of being low class. You should know better and if you don't know it makes you look ignorant.
Using good manners and behaving like a lady is of the utmost importance. Using Instant Message type abbreviations in business settings is a huge faux pas, your boss won't think it's cute, trust me.
You really should learn etiquette for personal interactions and Netiquette for online interactions. If you want to shout, save it for personal email - not online posts or professional email.
Best of luck to you.

In Internet culture, using all caps is considered the equivalent of shouting. It's a linguistic convention. Even if you don't mean to indicate shouting, people will take it that way.

It's harder to read than normal capitalization & punctuation, and it's considered yelling. Besides, if you write the entire message in caps, how are you going to put EMPHASIS on any particular word, if you wanted to? :)

When people see capitol letters on the internet, they see them as if someone is yelling. Like if i said "That was rude!" or "That was RUDE!" which one is more offensive? People find it to be yelling.

Studies have shown people can read better when capital letters are only used for the first letter beginning a sentence or proper noun.

When typing it is considers "loud" or angry in any correspondence on a computer. I know simply because my job just made us take a class on e-mail etiquette. I was in your boat too. Because I used it to catch someones eye or having something stand out. Not yell. So THERE YOU GO !!! :) (Joking)

if you ask a question in capital letters, then people would get the impression you think they are stupid and have to be talked to in a slow but "loud" tone. And people do not like to be treated like this.
