Are you an American? If not, Amtrak has a great package for foriegn toursits: either the USA rail pass, lets you travel throughout the country for set prices (national or regional passes), the North American pass allows you to travel on Amtrak and VIA rail (Canadian) trains. There are alot of things to do via trains. I'm not a big train fan, but I travel by train as much as I can, I hate flying. Just go to www.Amtrak.com and look under the deals segments. Also if you are an American and still wish to travel on Amtrak, they have an "Explore America" pass for national citizens.
