I want to know where can I send donations to the people of Darfur. Maybe to a specific family or orphanage.

UNICEF and the Red Cross are your best hopes out of the box as previously posted. If I were you and Christian, I'd ask my church if they had any African charities. While I'm an atheist (mathematically based non-sentient pantheist), I'd bet your church would help you find people you could trust to do real relief and not just whine and pass the buck.

Keep in mind that it is a war zone. Very little aide will get through like it didn't in Somalia in the early 90s. Back then I was screaming we need to fight to free and then rebuild. We left for political convenience and nothing got done.

There are savedarfur.org and darfurgenocide.org but they don't have any intention of doing anything from all I've gathered. They appear to just be an anti-Bush platform which wants the US to handle everything. There is this group http://www.genocideintervention.net/fundraise/ but watch the wording. Only 50% goes toward peacekeeping efforts but those aren't defined. I'm very wary. I wouldn't hold my breath. I know that all we seem to get are people who hold bake sales and protests without really risking anything but give that illusion and claim to be saviors. I wonder how many of them are getting paid while the issue isn't battled. It smells like a scam to me.

I have never heard of one or Darfur for that matter.

Try the Red Cross.

Why, you are just wasting your money. The money goes to mobs that rule that area. If you want to donate to a good cause, buy some beer for 18yr olds.

I don't think there is any way to help those people, monetarily or otherwise.

Go to www.amnesty.org. Also, UNICEF.
