is it bad if all i did today was go shopping for about 2 years in the mall and i am 14 years old 5'3'' and 95 pounds to have 1710 calories?

you are badly under weight. ur bmi is 17, it should be AT LEAST 18.5. under that is considered to be an unhealthy weight. u should be 120 t least in my opinion

That's not bad at all...you're small but still young and growing so you need a bit more calories (2000 is considered low normal range for adults, since you are younger than an adult, even though you are growing, you need a bit less).

Full Answer (how to get even better):

There are MUCH better ways to get fit then simply changing how many calories you eat to gain or lose weight.

If you think you look too skinny or have fat in odd places try
1) strength training (light dumbells) to keep from looking boney
2) I agree with the last answerer about exercise: specifically try aerobic training to trim off any body fat (30 minutes to one hour a day at 700 calorie per hour pace, preferrably on an elliptical machine.
3) almost completely stop eating anything with sugar, potatoes, breads, rice, or a lot of saturated/trans fats.
Instead eat mostly only fish, fruits, vegetables, beans, grilled turkey/chicken, and some nuts...this way you'll get all the nutrients to keep you growing with only 1000-1200 calories.

Do these 3 steps you will look like a female triathlete within half a year to a year. And, trust me, that looks awesome (look at any of the women in triathlete magazines and you'll see what I mean).

You sound underweight to me. Try having about 2100 calories per day. Don't get all worried, you just need to eat healthy and exercise to stay thin and healthy. I'm the same age & height as you almost and I weigh 115 lbs and everyone tells me I'm thin. So, just keep eating healthy and exercising, maybe you want to gain about 7 or 8 pounds.

Well you're pretty small, but kind of. Please, try to eat more.. I'm 12 and 5'2 and 103.... Jeez, you're really small!
