Personally I think that to rid the world of religion would be
man-kinds greatest achievement.... I know this will offend people, so I apologize .......... NOT!!! In the end when we all die we will be wondering why did we spend all our physical life devoted to something so boring and restrictive.... There is only one religion worth saving and that is Trancendial spiritualism as it gives you the freedom to live your life as YOU chose with no ridiculous restrictions... Also a true spiritualist knows that there is no God as we are all part of the same thing...... So tell me how can we get all religion to just STOP!!!!!
P.S. please dont say nuclear weapons...lol

Trancendial spiritualism is not a religion, the term is used to describe a personal belief system which is personal to you not anyone else`s beliefs.

OOOOPS obviously I hit a raw nerve with everyone who has answered my question..... and yes I did spell transcendental wrong... my mistake... My question is only to ask how it would be possible... The easiest way would be to get a great education and follow that with a great paying job, then buy yourself a private island and go there alone. That would rid the world of religion, your world anyway.

While religion may be less than perfect, it is responsible for every possitive step in the human race.
Hospitals? Care for the dying & elderly? Born in Christian monestaries
Ethical treatment for the mentally ill? Progressively has come from Christians
Feeding the hungry? Helping those displaced by disasters?Christian, Jewish, & Moslem relief agencies
Housing the homeless? Free medical service for the poor? Free tutoring for kids? Ending Slavery? Any other human service you can think of?
You will find that these were the brain-children of religious people following the dictates of their God. If you do even rudimentary research you will find few if any FREE of cost human service organizations that where founded by athiests, agnostics or 'trancendial' spiritualists. In fact, the US Constitutional ideal of ' all men are created equal' is a distinctly Christian idea.
So if you are going to get rid of us poor, silly religious folk, you will also rid yourself of most of the good & compassion that exists in human society.
Good luck when we are gone. You are going to need it!

If religion is so rediculous and you dont do it then whats the problem.
I think its the greatest IRONY that you say how important it is for people to do WHAT THEY WANT yet you want to BAN a belief system that you dont agree with.

silly, silly person...it may be that when YOU die you will be wondering why YOU sent your physical life devoted to something as boring and restrictive as your 'transcendental spiritualism'...sounds like some silly mess(even when you spell it correctly, lol) that houdini de-bunked a century ago...there is nothing that i can see as more boring and restrictive than a life WITHOUT God...think about spending eternity in the presence of the One who created it all...how cool is THAT gonna be? compare the time spent on earth to eternity...it's like an eye blink...would i want to risk the chance to spend eternity in God's presence and with people i grew up with, have known all my life, have made important relationships with just so for a few decades i can go out and indulge my every little whim? that's not freedom, that's pre-school

Your call to rid the world of religion is a sort of fallacy by which you try to convince yourself that you are of no religion. In fact, you are a man of religion and you invite people to follow your religion. It is not dangerous to have a religion but the most dangerous thing is to have your mind controlled by religion especially when you know that there is no such an absolute religion. And I think free mind and relgion are difficult to co-exist. So if you want to rid the world of religion, any relgion, just free all people's minds, can you?

Are you arguing to free mankind from as burden of religion, or to convert mankind to your world view?
Most adults who attend a church don't feel it to be "boring and restrictive." Instead, they view it as inspiring and illuminating.
And many of our great achievments have been supported by Religious communities- the civil rights movement, abolishionism, medical care and reseach, etc.
And besides, Religion is almost impossible to get rid of. Populations almost always retain their traditions and beliefs, even if they have to hide them. Christmas trees and Easter eggs are the two examples that come to mind quickest.

So maybe brainwashing and grooming like most other religions do. if that's the only way to solve/cure it to make human beings see sense...then why not?
