I just discovered that I have one! I probably got it as a gift a couple years ago, and it was just lying around.

Could someone explain how to use it (it is about the size of my hand), how to clean it, and what to do with it?

Sure, a pumice stone is for sloughing (removing) dead skin cells off certain areas of the body, generally for your feet. It helps to remove the calluses that form when you walk around without your feet properly covered.

To use it: Just soak your feet in soapy water for a few minutes and run the stone across the calluses and or hard areas on your feet (i.e. your heel, instep, and so on). You should see the size of the calluses getting smaller, and if it starts to hurt then you are rubbing too hard. Do this process consistently every night to keep your feet smooth

To clean it: Just rinse it in warm water.

A pumice stone can also be used as a hair removal check out this site for more information: http://www.hairfacts.com

Pumice Stone Uses

Some people use pumice stones to scrub their feet free of rough skin. Just rinse it with water to clean it. They generally do start to break down after frequent use. I prefer other methods for pedicures, but I had used them in the past.

Enjoy!

A pumice stone is used to remove dead, dry skin. Usually on feet or elbows. I use mine in the tub when the skin is soft and rinse it under the tap.

You can use it to slough dead skin off of your feet mainly your heals. Soak your feet or wash them first. Use only light pressure and if the area starts to feel warm stop. To clean it hold it under running water.
You can use it on other parts of your body where you have callouses
