C'mon, everybody likes to talk about themselves... But what exactly do you like to say about yourself?

There you are, on a date with a nice, attractive young woman. But the conversation is sort of lagging. What topic/question would get you talking and conversing?

My goal here is to ask something that will give the guy a chance to show off a little... and to get to know him better, of course. (Please, don't just say "Ask him what he likes to do in bed." Besides that...) Thanks!

Don't be afraid to be specific here, such as "Personally, I would love it if she asked about why I joined the Army because..."

There's no good answer to that.

Here's one idea: find a copy of The unGame. It's a card game involving unusual "getting to know you" type questions. Read through some, and memorize ones you find interesting. Let them spark creativity in coming up with new ones.

For example: "What is the most embarrassing pick-up line you've ever used?" "Who is the strangest teacher you ever had? Why?"

You have to tailor the question to the person you're on a date with. Ideally, you will have listened to what he talked about earlier. That way you can ask a question about something you already know interests him. Actually, listening like that is an art you have to learn if you're planning to date successfully: conversations that die most often do so just because one or both partners were not paying attention to the other, which communicates (and is probably caused by) a lack of interest.

Depending on your age, there is a variety of things that you can talk about. You can ask what kind of movies he likes, what video games he plays, sports or cars. You can ask about plans for the future ie. college, career, ambitions, anything like that. Does he like music, does he read for pleasure, who his favorite author is, etc.
DON'T ask questions about sex. It doesn't reflect too good on you.

Ask him what his favorite hobby is and form more questions based on his answer.

Ask him about his family, his jobs, travel, pets, can he cook,
what does he read, does he believe in love at first site, how
would he have dressed you tonight if he could have had his choice.
Details...Panties, Bra, etc. etc...
