See your doctor. You might have an infetion. The swallowing difficulty may be a result of irritation or swelling. Clearing your throat can actually cause more damage and keep the irritation going. Ask your doctor about medication to clear up the mucus. That might help you to alleviate your problem.

Good luck to you and feel better soon!

You really shouldn't have let it go this long. You had best make an appointment with your Doctor.
Do it now!
You need antibiotics as you're immune system has been under stress trying to fight the flu,so you have more easily picked up an infection. It may be ulcerated. That is the reason it feels worse when you gulp or swallow.
Should be nothing that antibiotics cannot fix in one course. Remember take the complete course or they won't work properly.
Until your appointment.
Take an analgesic, panadol, aspirin something to relieve the discomfort no more than 2X4 times a day.
Gargle regularly with salt and warm water.Every 4-6 hrs at least.
One desert spoon of salt to a tumbler of warm water.
That will ease all the symptoms and clear the mucous.
You will be fine, just get to the doctor!

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection . Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience.

it might be acid reflux, usually when asleep the acid will come up to the throat causing sore throats (also the feeling of something being caught in the throat) i have it and its kind of like always there, nothing serious but still should be professionally diagnosed

I'm a nurse. You need an antibiotic to rid yourself of this. In the meantime take some ibuprofen to get some sleep. You could also have strep. Take care of you, and I hope you feel better soon.

You need to see a doctor, as it could be strep throat...If it isn't, I would be surprised...I had strep for months, and they ended up taking out my tonsils at 26...Tonsillitis is also painful...And it can also be sinus trouble...I would seriously see a doctor for your problem...

I had that before and it was a sinus infection. See a doctor, and he will probably prescribe antibiotics. It will not get better on its own.
