my neighbour has 2 dogs. she has had one for almost 2 years and the other for a few months. the older dog was puppy mat trained as they live in an appartment. when they got the new dog they both just started toileting everywhere. she has tried everything to get them trained and they just wont budge! its like they r trying to run them out of the house! they get in trouble for peeing or pooing and then waltz right back in and do it again in front of her face. she really does try to train them but nothing seems to be working. can someone please help her? the young dog who is the worse behaved out of the two is a cavelier king charles spaniel. she has a mind of her own and blatently refuses to be trained. its causing her alot of stress and heartbreak...

I myself don't do the mat training it seems this trains the animal to go in the house, but I have never lived in a apartment. The younger dog is going in the house because it is mocking the older dog and thinks its okay. If the dogs are male most vets recommend neutering by age six months to keep males from spraying everything. The only suggestion I have is to try taking the dogs out as often as possible and being patient. When you take them out stay out until they do something and when they do give them a treat and overly praise the dog. Go on and on about what a good dog they are. When the go in the home scold them and tell them they are bad in a firm tone. Treats always worked for me. One must take them out first thing in the morning when they awake, this is a must. I have three dogs in the house age ranging from six years old to one year old. Mine are all trained. However, you cannot expect a dog to learn over night. If nothing else works they need to talk with their vet. They might have suggestions. Maybe obedience school would be an option. There has to be something that can be done. Good luck

First you have to get the puppy training pads and put them right near the door so that it will signal you when you when the dog needs to go outside. the second and most imortant is to crate the dog and make sure the crate is not too big for the dog because the dog will not go to the bathroom where it has to lay or sleep. this should work. also each time you take the dog outside and he does his business you must reward with a treat. the most important is to crate them while you are at work with a divider in the crate so that if he thinks about going to the bathroom it will have to lay in its own mess and they will not do it. Good luck

First of all, if the owner has caught the dog peeing inside, the owner should immediatly take the dog outside to finish his business. There shouldn't be an opportunity for the dog to "walt right back and do it again". Waltz them outside.

I would suggest the owner taking the dog outside anytime there is a future opportunity for the dog to eliminate. This could be after he naps, eats, drinks, plays. If the owner isn't home to do this then the dogs should be in crates.

Give it a hard belt and make sure it knows what it got the belt for.

Show it the prefered option, thing is to belt the dog there and then and not a minute later or else the dog will be confused as to why it got the belt.A dog of 7 months should know what the word no means.
Also i wouldnt recommend overdoing the slap either or you might break the dogs heart.
Also if the dog does a good thing be nice to it.Dogs want to please.

Its important to the dog that it know why it got the belt,

She needs to introduce her dogs to a kennel Cab when inside. And stop letting them have the run of the House until they are trained.

I have also found when my dogs come in and go. It will help if I go outside with them and walk around the yard until they go. Annoying but it works. Otherwise she needs to leave them outside for at least an hour. To make sure they went. And don't look out the window as they will just stand at the door and wait.

She also needs to clean the places they have gone inside with an odor remover so they are not attracted to it.

I've owned over five dogs in the course of my life and crate training is by far the best and easiest way, not to mention the quickest. Check out the source link on how to do crate training, but remember you still need to keep an eye on your dog/pup until he gets it. You also need to administer correction when accidents happen, but as long as you're diligent and consistent you will be fine.

Your nambor should keep the dogs in creates when she is not home. w=When she gets home she should let the dogs out right away and praise them when they pee and poop. they will not go in there creates because they consider that there den. this is not cruel. It will work and they will learn to go outside. Tell her to read "No bad dogs" This is a good training book. It will work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
