Depends which ones you use - if you are using a product that has ceremic built into the curlers then they have more of a tendency to keep the moisture in your hair so they don't damage your hair- the really good ones are the ionic ones because they heat up the hair from the inside out so they don't burn your hair when they try to change the hair follicles position. So if you have the right curlers then no

NOPE- not all hair curlers kill your hair. The ones that do more damage than others are the metal ones .
I suggest getting a ceramic curling iron- I like the Hellen of Troy, or conair. Top choices the Hellen though is more salon used- I myself own 4 of the Hellen of Troy "metal" curling irons- although I do love the new ones which are the ceramic ones.
If you own a metal iron- I HIGHLY SUGGEST to use product in your hair ALL the time even with ceramic to protect the cuticle of your hair from heat damage. The Products I like best is the: Paul Mitchell- "Seal and Shine"- built in heat resistant and conditioner, so its great for your hair.
Dont worry much about damaging your hair too much about curling irons be more concerned with the products you are using to protect your hair from the heat.

No, the hair curler i use to use was teflon coated, protecting your hair, and it had a part at the top you pushed down, and it would release steam, working much the same way as a 'wet 2 dry' hair straightner does in protecting your hair, and locking in shine and moisture. The only reason i don't use it now is because i have dreadlocks :)

I know there are alot of choices out there but try not to use much heat much if any. I would think that as long as you didn't curl it every day though it would be safe enough. There are also products out there you can put on your hair before drying it and curling it which protects it from the heat. All and all if you have healthy hair you should be fine.

I think it depends on how many degrees you have the curling iron on and how many times you curl your hair like if you curl your hair everyday. Also don't get the real cheap ones you may have to splurge on one

No they do not. I use them all of time and nothing happens. You need to find the right oil sheen or hairspray so that won't damage your hair.
