Scentlok suits and even then set up so you are watching downwind. No cover scent needed.

Michael S has it right.
SKUNK
The coyotes sense of smell is top of the line.
The wiser coyote will try and circle down wind to determine what is making that Rabbit Scream.
The young and dumb coyotes will run right on in, they don’t last long.
Where as the wiser coyote understands you don’t try and take a rabbit from a Bear, Wolf or Mountain Lion or Man.
In the eyes of the super predators the coyote is just another part of the food chain or target.
You might wont to incorporate some form of moving decoy to help in the ruse.
My all time favorite decoy is 3 large turkey wing feathers tied to monofilament, suspended above grass, ground what ever you terrain is
Attach it so it moves freely in the slightest of breeze and watch it dance.
I attach to fences between, not to the past, overhanging limbs or what ever will not obstruct free movement of the dancing feathers.
If you live where there is a good population of Eagles or Hawks take spare feathers and string.
For it’s been my experience they cant Resist the dancing feathers either.
I all so buy REAL Skunk not the man made mix.
The brand I use is Tinks I order mine online, a little bit of this goes a long long way.
with 40 years and counting hunting Coyotes
Place 3 to 4 drops on a cotton ball placed in a 35MM film canaster.
OPEN the tube and with a stick raise the cotton ball so it rides on the rim of the container, then place it 10 to 15 feet down wind of your position.
I use 2 or 3 of these in a half circle down wind of my position.
When your done hunting that area, The sent bomb is reusable.
WARNING: For the young and inexperienced audience, you don’t Drink or Put the Scent on your Body.
That way a coyote wont think you are,,,,,,,, a human that got sprayed by a skunk.
I FORGOT THE WARNING

Using skunk cover sent will make a coyote think you are,,,,,,,, a human that got sprayed by a skunk. I don't believe that any cover sent will completely disguise you from a coyote's nose.
Instead work the wind, choose the place setup carefully and you don't have a response to a call within about 20 minutes then go someplace else and try again.

Racoon urine is the best cover scent. No animals fear racoons and they are all over the woods so their smell is never out of place. It works great for deer and may work even better for coyotes because coyotes would smell it and be attracted to it as food.

My vote after trapping many fox & coyote is SKUNK.
Hang all your clothes outside. Don't smoke. These animals are smart, but, do you really think they would think that this human got sprayed by a skunk?
