Do you know of any good books about neurosurgery...I am considering it as a choice after high school...I already read:

Another Day in the Frontal Lobe by Katrina Firlick
When The Air Hits Your Brain by Frank Vertosick, Jr. M.D.

Do you have any other ones that you would recommend?

Its good to hear that you are interested in Neurosurgery, although I feel that it is a bit soon for that. First, you should be considering taking up Medicine as a career. Once you are enrolled into a medical college, will you realise the different specialities there are in medical sciences. Neurosciences (and especially Neurosurgery) is just one of the many subdivisions of a the huge umbrella of knowledge called "Medicine".

I suggest you read a book called "Phantoms in the Brain" by a very emminent Neuroscientist called V S Ramachandran, to keep your interest alive in the mysteries of the human brain.

Good will hunting!

I am studying Pediatric Neurology and instead of reading books you can start your career by going to a Hospital and make an appointment to shadow or intern with a Physician that is how I got started.

Almost anything by Oliver Sacks, expecially "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat." If you have read nothing yet by this brilliant neurosurgeon, you are in for a treat. Do avoid "Uncle Tungsten" and "Oaxaca Journal," though, as they are a completely different genre.
