really, really, really slow schleping along with those paper thong sandals?

I can never get around them at the grocery store or anything, then they just stop and stand there blocking an entire isle.

Middle class workers can get WIC.. just because a person gets WIC doesn't mean they are on welfare.. So she was there at 5 p.m maybe she works 11 p-7am or just part time.. I was a single mother of 1 whose father refused to pay support.. I was working full time and had NOTHING left over at the end of month.. If it had not been for food stamps, my son would have starved.. If it had not been for medicaid, he never would have seen a doctor or gotten shots.. I C rich people blocking an aisle of the store and using their big fancy cell phones, wearing 100.00 blouses and acting like they are such "hot" stuff that it's o.k. if nobody else can get thru. I do have a problem with women who have 1 baby after the other JUST to keep from working.. Once a child gets 4, the parents MUST work to keep the food stamps but don't assume that 1. they are all her kids..maybe she's babysitting 2. she's a person that abuses welfare 3. WIC is not just for low income.... I hope to God one day u need assistance and everyone makes fun of u.. I was working, going to school FT, with a disabled child and I was ill a lot.. I still got called a lazy bum who didn't want to work..

That's pretty pathetic. You must have absolutely no life at all if what some woman is wearing on her feet bothers you. If they just stop and stand there, it's probably because they are comparison shopping trying to get the most food for the money, because as you pointed out about the kids who looked like they hadn't bathed in a month - sad fact is food stamps is for food. You can't buy soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes, shampoo, basic stuff that we all take for granted. Just out of curiousity, how many clothes and boots and shoes and food and toys and toiletries did you donate this year? Yes, I'm sure there are those who abuse the system, but most of the people I know who have been down and needed help, it wasn't a good feeling. The kids is a whole other issue. Don't bring more children into the world unless you can provide for them - birth control? The system shouldn't reward people who just knock out kid after kid after kid, while others set the limit at one or two, because that's all they can afford. By the way, WIC is not welfare.

How do you know they are on welfare unless you saw them down at the welfare office when you were there!!!!!!!!!

By the way you should ask them the next time you see them

EDITED:
If you know they are walking around at 5 p.m then obviously you have no life either. Unless you work at the supermarket where if that is the case you have no room to talk about anyone........you probably only make about 7.00 an hour.........so you have no room to talk about anyone.

How do you know their welfare ladies ?? Can't tell by the way they dress, as many try to look clean and well groomed. I can't tell who is on welfare or who is not. Evidently , you know who they are. Being on Welfare is not easy. I have witnessed a women using food stamps and some elderly man, started to make fun of her. I came to her rescue. I have never used food stamps or been on Welfare, but from some people who I know, it is not easy. One lady told me, that being on Welfare is one of the worst times in her life. People insult and make fun of these poor families. Probably you need to choose a different store. Be kind and patient. Try to understand that some of these Mom's are very un-happy. Many don't have money to purchase a good pair of shoes.
