If the worst were to happen and the human race gets annihilated, how long do you think it would take for the Earth to foster a new race of sentient beings?

Scientific discussion only please. Thank you.

Daizy,

I don't mean to sound harsh but your opinion is worthless. I only want scientific info. Thanks for nothing.

bkc99x,

I already have built a perpetual energy machine. I'm using it to run this computing console on my star destroyer.

Furthermore, it should be pretty obvious that you humans will simply dumb yourselves to death very soon (100-200 years from now).

Let's see here, you want to hypothesize and hyperbolate about a scientific discussion concerning something that we have no idea if or when it will happen, with no idea or suggestion about what would have caused the extinction, and we can't even agree on how long it took for our great-great-great........great grand slugs to crawl their slimy butts up out of the primoridial soup so many eons ago?

Sorry, can't help much on that. Why don't you go worry about something you can do something about like building the first perpetual energy machine?

Thanks for the 2 points now and the thumbs down in advance.

Millions of years, at least. After all, that is how long it is thought humans took to attain the present level of development.

About the same time it took us the first time, and of course, by then another cataclysmic event would most likely happen - the sun exploding.

No. There is no proof that evolution ever took place, or anything like it. It is just a theory. Unfortunately, it's a theory that is still taught in schools and widely believed. But we seriously don't have to worry about that until much much later.
