It is great isn't it. I remember like 7 years ago I was in Sunday school and they asked the students the importance of Ramadan and Fasting. And a little kid said it helps us loose fat. It was so funny even the principal was laughing. And i love it also because It shows my devotion. And I go to a mostly Christan school kids are surprised and even the teachers are at what I do. And they try to compare it to the Christan Lent but their not even close.

good lord.. you said first it makes you skinny..THEN you mentioned it gets you closer to God...now thats' messed up...
...plus sweety, its totally wrong that you loose weight cause you're fasting.. why?.. well you tend to eat alot at night.. (in all diets you're better off eating in the morning more than at night..or atleast stop eating at around 6-7..cause it';ll take your body more effort to loose these pounds by next morning than if you do it right on the spot..)..number 2.. ramadan is a great month for sooooooooo many reasons other than weight and "only" getting closer ot God..so don't disrespect this holy month by putting our relationship with Allah..next to your weight plans...

Yes I have to agree Ramadan is great... it is the only time when I feel directly related to my religion. Plus everyoen at school thinks it is awesome and is totally supportive. Getting skinnier is just a plus and barely happens cause i piog out at night but ya totally agree!!!!

You can get skinnier and closer to God without Ramadan.......You didn't specify this question was solely for Muslims. Besides, this site is for everyone and if you don't like the answers...don't ask the questions

I don't like Ramadan because select few individuals take it as an opportunity to try to kill me and my buddies, because we didn't belong where we were, but we weren't in Iraq because we said ooh ooh pick me I wanna go get shot at. My buddies were lucky, they were injured bad enough they went home but not bad enough it ruined them.

makes you skinnier???????/
you should be looking for spiritual benefits instead of physical etc etc.
if in the end that's what you believe
then you wasted your time fasting.
