I was invited to a dinner party, hosted by a couple with a nine year old son. During the evening, the son came and asked for a lager, and his mother poured him out a pint of Carlsberg! Then he took it to bed. Weird or what?

if my 10 year old asks can he have some lager, we pour most of the bottle into a glass and top the bottle up with lemonade so he thinks he has a drink but it is actually a very weak shandy. i wouldnt give him a pint of lager though, physically their livers cant cope with that at that age

I dont think a pint was necessary. A small glass with a shandy in is ok i think. They will probably have a problem when this lad gets to 13 and is downing several pints a night!

Thats bad lazy parenting for you....look at this way....what if that child drank his pint and then got up and went to the toilet and then fell and knocked himself out....that means a trip to A&E...What do you think those parents would be asked then??.....they would regret that pint for the rest of there lives.
Social services would be informed....and I'm sure that they don't want that.

some people are just plain idiots,, fancy giving a 9 year old a pint,, prop the best way to ensure your son has a alcohol disorder when he's older!!

some people are just bloody clueless when it comes to raising children and often take the easiest option rather than putting there foot down and saying ''no your too young'',,,

though i doubt they will ever learn

Well, there's a picture of me on my first birthday with my dad giving me a sip of his beer, so I probably shouldn't be talking, but I think 9 is a bit too early to be just giving a kid a beer and sending him to bed.
