Games like that are for use on Win95 / 98 / XP. Win 2000 is an NT platform and a game like that will not install on an NT machine. The file allocation tables are totally different.

You can try this one:

Right click on the exe file, find "properties" and left click > dialog-box appears... click "compatibility" at tab menu > at the "Compatibility Mode" you will find "check box - Run this program in compatibility mode for: " > just checked the box to activate the drop-down menu > then select the type which windows compatible you have.

Good luck!!!

an EXE file is an Executable file, windows is the program that runs it, i never hear about this problem before.

If you want to install a game from a CD try if you can find a file called "Autorun", or if thats not there (or not working) try if there is a file called setup.exe and see if you can run that.

the problem might be that you try to run the file to play the game without having the game.

Hmm...

If your windows can't run a simple .exe, chances are your computer's corrupted. If you have backups anywhere, try to restore your computer from there, or else you have do to full reinstall of OS.

But if this is a CD, maybe just the CD is damaged.
