the couple were engaged to be married. They had a lot to say about how Christians thru the ages were warlike but the young man said if his wife did not study the Bible it was his duty as the spiritual head of the house to "make her". The question is: Arn't JWs doing the same thing on a smaller scale?

You have to feel sorry for anyone that believe's their way is the only way. Self centered religous people (with the answers to eternal life) are some of the most dangerous people in the world.

The subtle "make her" is pretty scary!

JW's don't force anyone to study the bible, even those who are married and their spouse is not interested. So either you are lying, didn't understand what he was saying, or he has the wrong idea. JW's are not warring on any scale, we do not convert those who are not interested, in fact, we don't convert anyone at all --- a person makes that decision on their own.

You cannot join the Jehovah's Witnesses, you become one by your study of the bible and your dedication to God. You do not dedicate your life to any individual or the organization.

One is about killing people and the other is about studying the Bible. You're right, I don't see a difference either.
