Seems like you really got bashed on this one, & every thoughtful answer got a thumbs down. Hard for me to understand why there's no vet available, but that's not up to me to judge, my dear. Say, if I hadn't the option (at least at this time) of a vet, & my cat's paw was injured (?) the BEST I could do would be to examine it. See if there's anything imbedded in it (gently separate all toes, check the pad) & IF your kitty got something in the paw, or whatever--maybe a cat fight--& it's swollen, this probably means an infection, (if not a sprain)? If an infection, UNTIL you can see a vet, hopefully soon, remove the object (if that's it) & be sure to sterilize everything. Moist, warm compresses can't hurt or exacerbate whatever the problem is. If there's an open wound, be sure to dry thoroughly &--SEE A VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If it's an infection, your kitty will NEED an antibiotic. Best of luck, use your common sense for now--& good luck to your kitty!

Can you take a good look at the injured paw? If you see an obvious wound, clean it up with hydrogen peroxide. Clean it very well. Hydrogen peroxide does not sting so the cat will tolerate it. The wound may fester and become abcessed by tomorrow though. That will require a dose of antibiotics. So, you need to take your cat to the vet.

If the cat has been outside recently, it may have jumped on it wrong or maybe a green ant bit her paw. Just leave her for a while (say 1/2 hr) and if it hasn't gotten any better than try and check it out. Most animals can heal themselves and do not require a vet.

Check the paw carefully and gently to see if there is a thorn or sticker. With a cat, this is unlikely but possible.
If you can't find a foreign object, it's a vet visit.
Remember, a vet visit costs about as much as a nice dinner out, and your pal will be very grateful for you resolving the problem...er...AFTER you get home from the vet...

Be careful, but carefully look at the paw. If you can not find anything the next option is to take it the the vet. You should take your kitty to the vet ASAP! It obviously got hurt and it needs to get checked out. Best of luck with your kitty!

Put ice on the paw and take it to a vet tomorrow. Ice it for 20 minutes and then leave it off for 30 minutes. Repeat if possible.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE ANTARTICA!!!
IF YOUR CAT'S PAW IS SWOLLEN AND IT CAN'T WALK THEN TAKE IT TO VET... IF YOU REALLY ARE IN THE OUTER REACHES OF OUTER MONGOLIA.... THEN AT LEAST BATHE THE AFFECTED AREA WITH SOME OF ANTISEPTIC SOLUTION.
BUT IT COULD BE BROKEN IF IT WON'T WALK ON IT SO A VET IS AN ABSOLUTELY NECESSITY IN MY BOOK IF YOU CARE FOR THE CAT.

You cat should try to take care of it itself. I would still try to get it to a vet as soon as possible. You can live with a vet bill, but you can't live with yourself if your cat dies because you didn't want a bill.

If the cat is an outdoor cat, check for a thorn or something sharp. If you can't find anything, go to the Vet.

You should take your cat to the vet and see what the vet says to do.
