Theres a test (Not talking about the ASVAB) you take prior to Boot Camp, its either at MEPS or prior to that. So I have 2 questions for you...

1)- When do you take this physical test?
2)- What are the things you have to do? (Like how many pull ups, push ups, sit ups, how fast of a mile or two, ect..)

Thanks

I don't remember taking any other test at MEPS, but that was 12 years ago, so who knows.

When you get to boot camp, you will go through a couple days of receiving. This is where you fill out all your paperwork, get everything issued, haircut, etc. Before you go to you actual DI's, you will take an initial PFT. If I remember correctly, the minimums to pass were

40 situps in two mintues
at least 3 or 4 pullups
and under 13:00 minutes for 1.5 miles.

If you don't pass that, you will be sent to PCP(physical conditioning platoon). There, they will get you to the point of passing that initial PFT.

Realize this though, if you go to PCP, you are not getting closer to graduation each day. You are basically marking time until you are in good enough shape to start training.

If you barely make the minimums on the initial PFT be ready. It is likely that you will end up in PCP anyways. If you fall out of, I think, 3 formation runs you will also be sent ot PCP.

The final PFT in boot camp, and for the rest of your time in the Corps is as follows:

Situps( arms folded over the chest for two minute) 40 min./ 100 for 100 points.
Pullups 3 minimum, 20 for 100 points
3 mile run 28:00 minutes minimum, 18:00 or less for 100 points.

You must get at least a 135, and get the minimum on each exercise to pass.

Good luck.

My husband went like 4 years ago. He took the PFT a MEPS. I think it was 1 or 2 pull-ups, 1 1/2 miles in 13 minutes or under, and I think 50 crunches in 2 minutes, but maybe less. If you are able to to these, you should be fine.

The only other test with the marines is the physical and its not really a test. Its just to see how well of shape your in before u go cause the recruiters could pull u for not being in good enough shape. U will take it at the recruiting office. Now for the requirements, I'm not sure cause it depends on the recruiter and how much of a work out nut he/she is.

you mean the Initial Strength Test (IST). Last I heard, you took it 21 days into bootcamp, and you had to do 3 pull-ups, 50 crunches, and run a mile and a half in 12.5 minutes.

@ MEPS I had to do the arm hang, I don't remember how many seconds, but I do remember I did like 36 seconds and I remember doing situps, but no running.
I think the males just have to do 2 pull ups.
