Last night he not only let slip to a mutual friend that he likes me, but also spent all night flirting with me like mad. Then, today he admitted to me that he meant it when he said he was interested in me. I just don't know if I should let things happen as they will, or step up against shyness and ask him out.

Step up against the shyness. Making the first move isnt always a bad thing. If you both like each other then go for it.
