My boyfriend and I have our anniversary on Valentine's Day.

I told him about it today (which is exactly a month before the big day). We are both in college and he's going to be working pretty much everyday too after his classes. Me being a girl.... I couldn't help but think about our anniversary coming up. And this is my first serious relationship and first anniversary for me. So it's truly special for me.

So I asked him what we're doing and that I hate that the day is in the middle of the week. He says he doesn't know what's gonna happen... that he only plans things 3 days ahead of time. (I noticed that's a guy thing).

Maybe he's gonna surprise me? I don't knowwww. I'm just scared he won't do anything at all and/or he won't have time to. I'm going to be so heart broken if we don't do something. I guess I'm just being paranoid...

Atleast I reminded him. I don't think I'll mention it again.

Can someone ease my paranoia please?

Expectations are planned resentments. If you expect anything, you are bound to be resentful. Either it won't be romantic enough for you, or you feel like you "forced" him to do something that maybe he wouldn't have done.

Just enjoy the day, whatever he does or does not do. Just enjoy that you are in a special relationship that matters to both of you.

That OldSalt... or more of a Old Geezer... sure is mean and bitter. He sounds miserable and depressed and is hiding it by making sick jokes. He probably had a big fight with the old wifey... or maybe he's just not gettin' any.

The anniversary is special. Like Roswell said, just be happy you are in a great relationship. : }

I thought anniversaries were about MARRIAGE. Anniversary for when we went to the lake, when we had our first ice cream cone together, when we first did this or did that....gagggggggggggg. Give it a break. I'll be having my 38th anniversary of our marriage and that is ALL that's important. Heck we don't even know when we first met or had our first date (during a hurricane in 1967).
