Not trying to be offensive. I'm just wondering how many of the stories in their bible they believe to be factual.

For example the story of Samson killing 1000 men with the jawbone of a donkey.

Do you believe that story is 100% true?

The inerrency of the bible is not agreed upon by the various denominations of Christianity.

While Fundamentalists believe that th Bible is completely factual, more liberal faiths believe that some of the stories are either metaphorical, translated incorrectly, or are incomplete.

Some faiths completely disregard the central theme of some Bible passages. More liberal faiths do not ask their members to keep the sabbath, for example. Meanwhile, more conservative Christians ignore the apparent pacifism of Jesus' "Sermon on the Mount."

Therefore, it's not really valid to lump all Christians into one group, and then ask how many "stories" they believe.

Many pagans have been gained over by the adoption of Roman pagan fairs and Greek philosophy into placed up-Costantine Christianity, between different issues. even if confident, traditionally speaking, maximum human beings the place forced into one faith or yet another by ruling powers. yet not my particular faith- we are pre-Constantine Christianity revived, as a result neither Catholic nor a element of the Protestant destroy offs, and as a result we never used rigidity to transform every physique. that's not possibly a topic understand that seems talk worth. that's undemanding historic previous with an abundance of information, not possibly some thing a properly-knowledgeable guy or woman can deny. of direction, many poor little ones had to benefit historic previous on the hands of a coach- this would clarify the ordinary lack of knowledge of historic previous between right this moment's little ones.

Sometimes I wonder about the validity of some of the Bible stories. I'd be lying if I said I didn't. But on the other hand, why would God not cause amazing things to happen? If I was Almighty, I would show off some, ya know? It would be harder to believe God was poweful if He never showed power in miraculous ways. If the Bible consisted of stories like "And a man went to a town and bought some cabbage. Went home and made coleslaw and his family rejoiced..." and didnt tell of "unbelievable" things, then how could we even fathom that God was mighty at all?

First, of all, why are people getting so offensive?
Does he not have the right to question?
Does he not have the freedom of speech?

He just wants to learn if Christians acknowledge that their beliefs are considered myths by modern society, and he just wants to know if you believe them to be true or not?

I, personally, don't believe this stories to be 100% accurate, they are probably partially true, if true at all.

No I as a Christian do not acknowledge anything of the sort. You offend with your question and then say you are not being offensive. ?????

I believe every word that is written in the Bible is the absolute truth. Anyone who believes otherwise is not a wise person. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

God said it, I believe it and that settles it! You must be feeling that empty feeling inside your heart, I know the answer to that feeling. You can be filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Just ask Him to forgive you of your sins and ask Him into your heart and life. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

No, I put my trust in the word of God,not man especially his opinions and theories on life.

Why should I believe the philosophy of man, which is the Lord's own creation made in his own image than the Lord God who made all creation?

I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. John 13:16

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. John 10:29

But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than man. Job 33:12

You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. Nehemiah 9:6

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
Acts 17:24

John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

Christianity is not factual. I encourage you to read the Bible for yourself including the following books

The Case for a Creator, The case for Christ, The case for Faith By Lee Strobel and Evidence That Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell. I look forward to talking to you. At least , try to read the case for faith or Christ.

Philosophy is not religion.

Tell you what....check out this site: http://www.peterkreeft.com/home.htm and then decide.

Peter Kreeft is a professor of Philosophy at Boston College (BC). He is very well versed in philosophy. He was raised Dutch Reformed but in 1959 he embraced the Catholic Church. Read his articles about the Church. You can also listen to some of his talks on his site as well. You'll end up embracing -- not rejecting -- religion.

It may defy all philosophy but nonetheless, it is true. Every word in the Word of God is true. God's thoughts are not our thoughts. One may say what they want but the day will come that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. May God Bless U.
