i have a friend who believes she's fat so she barely eats anything but she doesnt want anyone to realize it so she'll eat a bit so people wont think that she doesnt eat, but after she does eat anything she'll make herself throw it up. She's been doing this for about 3 months now. So its kinda anorexic+bulimic, but im not sure if its an actual eating disorder or the name of it. Can someone please help me figure this out?

This is Anorexia Nervosa Type II (which means they restrict their food intake but "purge" (vomit) occasionally).
It doesn't need a name. What it needs is help. Have you considered speaking to your friend non-confrontationally? Eating disorders are incredibly serious diseases.

It is an eating disorder. She suffers from both of the disorders. You should tell someone, a teacher, parent, or even call the help hotline in your area. You may lose her as a friend, but eventually she'll realize you did it to help her and because you cared. It won't get better on its own. If you do nothing, she'll only continue to waste away. The sooner you get her help the better!

When you don't eat and make yourself throw up, your body goes into starvaation mode saving any calories you intake. Your body eats muscle before it eats fat so having an eating disorder basically causes a skinny fat person, they may look skinny but their whole body is just fat no muscle. You need to get your friend help no matter what.

It additionally is composed of 'Binge-ingesting'. Binge -ingesting is doing what you do; not ingesting for a at a similar time as then actually occurring a great binge. wish this helps.

She is diffently anorexic/bulimic, thats what it is called, she suffers from both aliments, poor girl, if you really care for her, could you give her family the info you know about how she is hurting herself? Yes, I'm sure she would be furious at first, but it could save her health, even her life. Good luck to you.

she is anorexic. Belimia is a binge and purge syndrome, meaning she won't eat for a long while then binge on everything will be consumed with feelings of guilt then throw up. Many anorexics will eat when they have to appease people then throw up what they have eaten

If you know shes been doing this for three months...it most likely was longer...she probably did this way before you found out. This is serious business...vomiting and binging...vomiting takes the enamel off your teeth so they fall out, rips apart your esophagus,....not having the nutrients she needs is eventually going to send her into cardiac arrest...please help this girl and tell someone that can REALLY help her.

It's what you called it. A combination of anorexia and bulimia. Some people refer to it as bulimorexia. Your friend needs professional help. Good luck to her.

Actually.. you have answered your own question. It is anorexia and bulimia. And yes.. these are very serious disorders and she needs help! Often people with these disorders have distorted images of themselves and have no idea just how thin they are.

sounds like she needs help doesn't matter what its called.
tell her any eating disorder slow's the metabolism, give you bad breath, bad gums, can make your hair fall out, your skin dry so you end up with spots and can kill.
