I had a girlfriend who had two of them that she loved. I thought they were disgusting. Everytime they got excited, they would jump up on me and blow snot on me. The male dog snored like a 12 pack-a-day drunken sailer. Ugly and disgusting - so what is the attraction?

lol. I used to think that were SO ugly too! But then my mom got two of them. And I guess their personality just started making them cute. But I know what you mean about the snot. For some reason they love to get in your face and breath hard and then your face is covered in it. lol. And they have a snore since there nose is so messed up. But once they have climbed into your heart all of that doesn't seem to matter and their snore ends up being cute. guess their personality and commitment to you is what wins you over and you forget about that there face looks like they were running after a car and the car stopped but they did not and they hit the back of it with their nose. lol.

I think they are beautiful!!! They are so ugly they are cute. They really grow on you.
They have the best personality of any dog that I know. They are so friendly and loving and really intelligent (but stubborn). Yes, ours snored as well - but it wasnt loud so it didnt bother anyone. Plus, ours never blew snot on people, so I dont know why hers did.

Well we have got one and it is cool. But even our 2 yellow labs that we have blow snot sometimes it just depends if the dog is sick or not.

I'm with ya on this one. Not my type of dog AT ALL!
Then again, there're probably people out there that wouldn't be caught dead with my JRT mix or my Lab mix. It's called a difference of opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree so ugly they are cute. I am allergic to the oil in their skin/fur though so I can't be around them anymore :-( but they are really sweet dogs and the two i had were so playful and lovable. My grandma had one too and she just loved it.

They are still cuter than most men! :)
And much less disgusting. They don't walk around with their paws down their pants.
Sounds to me like you are placing your dislike of the girlfriend on the dog.

i don't know i have 1 but i think they're funny to look at. mine doesn't blow snot on you though. but it snores and snorts
