If you are paying cash, yes. If you are running a tab, you can tip at then end of the evening when you pay it.

When Im out at the bar and having many many drinks, I like to leave at least $1-$2 tip per drink. I also bartend and when people tip good I tend to remember them a little easier and know that I am going to be compensated for the quality of service I am giving.

I would have to say yes, and really, you don't have to tip much. Sometimes though, instead of dropping like a couple of quarters into the jar each time, I put a dollar or two every other trip to the bar. Bar tenders do depend on that as part of their livelyhood. Be kind!

Club, no.
Bar, yes...if they deserve it.
We come and go in clubs, most of the staff don't really know us. But at bars we tend to know the people a little more. And if they're doing a good job, you should show your appreciation by tipping. And if they're not doing a good job, that is your way of reminding them who is the customer.

If you want to continue to go to that bar, it's always in your best interest to treat the staff fairly and respectfully, and yes, that means tipping.

Years ago when I worked in restaraunts and clubs I saw some pretty disgusting things done to the food and drinks of folks who were perceieved by the staff to be tightwads or rude.

Of course you tip. Wassa matta fa you?
You want lousy service or a roach in your beer?
It's part of the cost of drinking out!
"If you can't afford to tip, don't eat (or drink) out!"

they want you to, but if you are only getting one beer then tip at first, that way you'll get better service and then maybe tip on your last drink.

Personally, I prefer a fat tip up front. I will ignore everybody else to get to you.
