new job .i em an equipment operator and i have to "break down man holes" tomorrow.what is involved in this process

A manhole is a concrete lined hole in the ground with heavy shoulders at the top to support the lid and anything that drives over it. Breaking it down would require a jack hammer or equivalent mounted on a scoop loader arm.
