I personally would not. There are thing kids need to learn many things from an early age and being a spoiled little demanding brat is not one of them. I want my kids to learn what it is to EARN what they get, and to RESPECT it. You have to work for things in life- things are not just handed out to you on a silver platter. I think in the long run it's hurting you child to spoil them horribly.

I'm on limited funds and I still spoil my kids. I don't get them everything they want but i will buy them things that i cant really afford. There father is not around and I enjoy seeing them smile. Now my kid do chores around the house and must clean their rooms and there grades are very important. If I had money I know I would definitely spoil them. People say they don't want brats, well you can spoil your kid and not have brats. I come home from work and my kitchen is clean, the floor is vacuumed and all i have to do is take a shower and chill, well why not spoil my boys. I do understand that some kids are spoiled and don't deserve it. Well I think mine do. They spoil me and I spoil them.

I am not rich but I think my kids are spoiled. I think there is a good spoiled and a bad spoiled. My kids are what I call a good spoiled. They normally get what they want but in return they are very respectful to me. They have never back talked me and they do what is asked of them. They get good grades, are very respectful of other people, and have never been in trouble. I think you have to start at a young age and let them know what is expected of them and the consequences for bad behavior. I call a bad spoiled when a child throws temper tantrums and throws themselves on the floor to get what they want. You should not reward this behavior in children because it teaches them that whenever they don't get what they want all they need to do is throw a tantrum. I for one would give them a good butt whipping and give them something to cry about. They get the message real quick what is acceptable behavior and what is not.

I would like to say I wouldn't but I know I would because of the circumstances around his birth. I had 3 early miscarriages before my son was born and he almost died at birth due to being a preemie (His heart stopped twice within 5 minutes) and then I recently lost a baby girl at 21 weeks gestation back in Aug. I wouldn't let him turn out like Paris Hilton...at 2 years-old he is already smarter and a better singer than she is!!

The only thing that would be different if we were rich is that my kids would have their Mum at home with them instead of having to work full time.
Apart from that, I think that my kids do alright as it is. They don't miss out, nor do they get everything they want. Hopefully, I'm striking a balance.

I would buy them nice stuff but not all the time because then they will turn out spoiled and expect everything to be handed to them for FREE. No way!

No, i might spoil them a little eg buying things I cant now cause I'm broke. But they wouldnt get everything and definately not everything they wanted.
I'd spoil myself though.

I hate to say it, but i think i probably would...i wouldnt go to the extent of that super sweet 16 show on MTV or anything but I think id want them to have a lot of things they wanted probably because ive never had a lot of money nor have my parents so i think it'd be fun to be able to spend money without worrying about what's left for gas and daycare and food

I would spoilt them to a certain extent, but I think we have enough spoiled brats in the world.
My generation is much too...how to put it...used to getting whatever the hell they want.
I'd give them a good bit of things, but they'd have to earn just as much.

That depends on YOUR deffinition of "spoil". I've seen undisciplined bratty children on both sides of the finaical fence. It has nothing to do with money, it has to do with parenting.
