It's a very nice car however if you have the option of getting the 3.5 get that instead. The 2.5 has a smaller engine. I have a 3.5 and I wouldn't trade it. I'm getting an SUV of some sort but I'm not trading my car to get it.

My father has a 2005 that I drive a lot for him. The Altima is a nice car and a great value for the price. I am always amazed that the 2.5 engine feels like a six, but has better economy.
The earlier Altimas had a check engine light error that seems to have been cleared up by 05. I don't know of any other problems.

I have an 02 Altima and it is the best car I have ever had. I might not ever get another brand of car after buying the Altima.

It's actually a very nice car. If you can, however, try to get the 3.5 version because it has a V6 and better performance but otherwise I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
