I usually go out with friends, but I'm thinking about going out alone to see who I will meet.

I think in this day and age you can pretty much go anywhere by yourself. It shows that you are comfortable and secure if you can go out alone and not feel weird. Sometimes when you go out with a group of friends they create a sort of barrier for someone who otherwise might approach you if you're on your own. I have friends like that. We have such a good time together we forget about other people around us. I mean that's great but it does sometimes hamper social interaction. For me it's worse when i'm with them because I'm the oldest in the group so guys will check them out first so if I'm out alone I might have more of an opportunity to get a guy to notice me.

I don't think it's weird to go out alone, but don't underestimate the dangers of being alone even in a familiar place. Weird things happen....just make sure someone knows where you are and that you use extreme caution with anyone you meet!

I go out alone all the time. It is a little awkward at first but will build your self confidence which will attract people. I started doing this years ago to specifically build my self confidence. When you can take yourself out for dinner and drinks with out feeling uncomfortable then you can tackle anything!!
Just make sure if you are in a larger city that you stay around other people and be very careful.

no, nothing wrong with going out by yourself. A neighborhood bar is a great place to go alone...

it's the best thing!! when i moved to a different state i used to go out by myself and, because i'm a bit shy, i'd have a shot of tequila and soon i'd be talking to everyone that seemed nice! i made good friends at the bars and even though i have moved back to brazil, we still keep in touch. i say go ahead and you're sure to have lots of fun!

I go alone all the time. Of course I'm a guy, which is a little different than your situation.

There's nothing wrong with it, just be careful like don't drink too much and make sure no scumbag has a chance to slip you some date rape drug. Don't do a Natalie Holloway and get into a car with 3 jerks you don't know.
