I actually do use soap occasionally if I'm especially concerned about a fruit or veggie's skin.. Usually though I just wash my fruits and veggies by scrubbing them well under warm running water with warm water and a "vegetable" brush or pan brush.

If you ever do use soap, you really need to rinse with very warm water... cool water often just won't get the soap off. You should also kind of rub with your fingers or a plain brush while rinsing to really get the soap off completely... your fingers can tell you alot about when the soap is really gone. It can take while too, so I just try to be patient so I can be sure it's all off.
Also, some types of dish soap are more concentrated than others (Dawn, for example), so you can plan on those taking longer to fully remove, or thin those way down with water in a separate bottle and use that.

There is also a special spray for veggies that you can buy at the grocery store... but it will be more expensive.

(there is no soap for washing off meat, poultry or fish, and I wouldn't ever advise it... when it needs "cleaning" for whatever reason, just rinse and rub and bit under warm water)

Washing meat is not needed or stated, all you're doing is splashing an infection around the sink and getting it throughout you hands, etc. It was once we washed meat on the grounds that's decrease on band saws that left bone dirt on the beef - yet they have greater advantageous and thinner blades now, so because it is not a controversy.
