With a $1,000 budget in mind...

You can get "professional quality" photos from less expensive cameras, but as long as you gave me some of your money to spend, here are a couple that I'd consider...

How about a Nikon N80 and a Nikon 24-120 Vibration Reduction lens? This pair would cost about $865 and then you could top out your budget by buying a flash.

How about a Canon EOS Elan 7N and a Canon 28-135 Image Stabilization lens? It would cost about $820 and then you could add a good flash to kill the budget. You could also look at an EOS 3, but then you would not have much money left for a nice lens.

I have other recommendations for less expensive cameras, but I'm trying to spend all of your money. :-) These are good cameras.

well pawn shops are a great place to start. But if I where you I would go digital. I am a photographer and this is all I use now. You get quality prints and if you are willing to spend 1000 bucks then you can get a really nice one. Like 10 Megapixels. But if you just really really want film then try the pawn shops they have some real nice ones since everyone is turning them in for digital.

I've got my film camera just collecting dust to large and heavy digital is the best it's the only camera I'll ever use I have the memory card I can get 1000 shot just changing my rechargeable batteries How ever I know a Attorney that won't use any thing but film because its too hard to manipulate the image and he has a negative to prove his case
