a very bad one that is being used to justify something he knows he shouldn't have done. at this point you are dealing with someone who is telling you that he isn't trustworthy , since if he thought you were cheating on him he should have confronted you instead of doing what he really wanted to do in the first place but couldn't .
weather you dump him is your choice, but if he cheated on you once for no real reason other than he wanted to, odds are he will do it again.
it sucks that that happened, hope this helps with your situation.

The kind of excuse someone with low self-esteem would use, unless you were cheating on them, then it's a good excuse. Also, I think I should add that apparently your significant other is hornier than they let on.

It is another way of saying " I realy don't care for you that much but as long as you put up with me, I won't leave" A person who cares and thinks you were cheating would talk to you about it or try to do something to fix the situation, not go out and cheat. you need to dump him before he gives you a gift like STD or the likes!!

That is called a preemptive affair and is considered relationship legal due to a temporary insanity plea. If you were not really in to the relationship, go ahead and take this opportunity to bail. If you were hoping for a LTR you can spank the offender with a rolled up newspaper and attempt better communication.

did you do anything to give him reason? its not just the act of cheating, but the suggestion that could drive someone crazy to do the unthinkable. we need to take a look at ourselves before we can judge others. cheating usually occurs when there is something lacking in a relationship. it could be his fault, but its both you're fault in terms of clearing the air.
