There is a grocer who always makes rude comments while I am in the isle. Like: What I have bought, or my haircut. What would you do in this situation?
Thankyou

I would answer his comments as though he were talking to me....not rude but in a conversational tone.

Such as I would tell him......I love this brand of ice cream it is soooo good.....have you tried it yet?

Or...I'm glad you noticed my haircut...so many people have said how much they like it.

It'll make him know you heard him without starting a fight....it's worth a try.

It's hard to say why this particular individual is trying to connect with you, albeit in an annoying way. Be a little more perceptive and less sensitive next time. Let your brain rationally assess what he's up to next time rather than let your emotional response drown out the moment. Any kind of connection between humans has a reason. He may be nuts. He may have taken you wrong once and has bad feelings for you. Or, he may miss a son or younger brother who looks like you. Who knows. But, by digging a bit, you could find out what he's up to and then turn the situation into something more socially healthy. That is what you would teach your own son to do in such a situation.

Well, why do you shop there? Maybe you need to record him and play it back and ask if he would like to make any more rude comments for your lawyer when you see about a descrimination suite against him. I don't know but I know I wouldn't have put up with it this long, I don't take crap from people, they are supposed to be serving you if they are in business, providing a product or service for pay...that means treating you with respect...that's an old idea but I believe it should be this way. It's up to you....write a letter telling him about how you feel and keep a copy. Tell him how it makes you feel to his face, record him and play it back, shop someplace else. then if he should ask where you've been later on tell him where and why. That might be a wakeup call. Probably not ...usually rude people are not nice and don't care.

Hmm, I wonder why he does it...either way unless you want to be rude back at him and tel him to mind his own business, you could shop at a different store or find out when he takes his lunch break or days off and shop then.
He can't be there all the time...

If the grocer works there-report her for rudeness.
If it is just a customer behind u, just ignore them.

Talk to the store manager and explain what's up.

I would be nice and polite and respond to his comments, but if it really makes you feel uncomfortable, I would speak with the manager.

I think I would tell him that you are sure he/she has your best interest at heart; but thanks anyway and if you want his/her opinion, you will ask for it. Next, if it happens again, tell the store manager and make sure you have comments and dates for him/her. This is rude.

Ask him/her if they know of any good grocery stores in the area.

Just for today, pretend that she is actually trying to pleasantly pass the time of day.
