I have only taken it for less than 3 weeks at 150 mg once a day. It never did help my depression and yesterday and today it made me severely itchy and my doctor said to discontinue use. Will I have withdrawal symptoms? Or is that unlikely due to my short time of use?

You should be fine. There is only so much tapering down you can do anyway when it only comes in 150 or 300 mg tablets that cannot be cut in half (if you are on the XL form). I've been on (and gone off of) many, many psych meds. I had to taper all of the other antidepressants because I had withdrawal symptoms, but when I briefly went off of Wellbutrin, I just stopped and did not have side effects, even after taking 300 mg a day for years. I would say it is highly unlikely you will have any problem going off of this one, especially having only been on it 3 weeks.

Even though it is unusual with this type of anti depressant it is still possible depending on the amount of time that you took it..the way to tell however (from experience) is if you notice your vision bouncing or eyes jittering then you are suffering from withdraws..its usually not severe its more of an annoyance..thats the most common withdrawal symptom with that type of medication

Withdrawal is unusual with Wellbutrin.

Shouldnt have too many withdrawals. When I went off of it the only thing I noticed was I slept better.

WELL...gotta say..i tried to taper myself from it and had side effects...had to start taking it again and taper the dose slower. Everyones body is different though...you may be one of the lucky ones...on a side note...try Lexapro...that worked very well for me.
