Do you mean in a Catholic Church? Using your right thumb draw a small cross on your forehead, then on your mouth and finally on your breast or heart.

That particular gesture is intended to be performed by the priest or deacon just before he reads the gospel, but most people follow along. It is begun as he says "holy" in the phrase: "A reading from the holy gospel according to..."

He places the outside edge of his thumb against his forehead, then slides it down about an inch, half-way back up, to his left, then to his right. He repeats this gesture on his lips, then his chest. The silent prayer that accompanies this gesture is, "O Lord, be in my mind, on my lips, and in my heart that I may worthily proclaim the gospel."

Properly, a listener should probably sign his ear rather than his lips, but as I said, this isn't even supposed to be done by the laity.

Regularly you say "In the name of the Father (touch your forehead), the Son (touch the center of your chest) and the Holy (touch your left shoulder) Spirit (touch your right shoulder). Amen

Before the gospel you make a little cross with your thumb on your forehead, then on your chin, then on your chest and you mumble some words while you do it but I forget what they are.

Place your hand on your forehead... now place it on your groin, now on your left shoulder and finally your right shoulder. Is that Christianity?

They are actually having their congregation make the sign of Baal on their bodies and not a cross that depicts the cross Christ was crucified on. Fact is, Baal is just another name for Satan.

I don't believe in "doing" the sign of the cross. That's more of a catholic thing.
