Dobes usually pick out one person, and they just stick with you all the time, and want to be by your side. My friend has always had one, and she said they are called velcros dogs, because they always want to stick right next to you. I have a German Shepherd that has to follow me around from the time I get home from work, till I go to bed. He is very loyal and loving, but when Im on the phone at night, or on the computer, he too will do all he can to get my attention. He has chewed up newspapers, and my cardboard cartons that hold my bottled water, just to get my attention in the evenning! I figure its a small price to pay for the loyalty they give you and love, not to mention, he scared away the robbers that tried breaking in our house last month! You are lucky you have a dog that loves you so much! I know men, that are much more annoying than our dogs! I would rather have my dog!

He's training you. The dog's point of view is something like, "I know what'll get your attention right away: whining. I prefer you yelling at me to stop rather than nothing at all, and if you ignore me, I'll just keep getting louder because I know eventually you're going to break down and pay attention to me! Arooooo!"
That is called an extinction burst. Imagine if every day at work, you bought a soda from a machine. It always works, every day - your money gets you a soda. Today, though, you put in your $ and the machine doesn't give you a soda. Most humans will end up pressing the buttons on the machine harder and harder, then kicking and yelling at the machine for a little while to get their soda - that is, their behavior will get "louder" to get the result that they want! This is what your dog is doing to you. You must ignore the dog's whining and be very patient about it - since this has always worked for him in the past, he will be very persistent in continuing it untill he's absolutely sure it won't work. Ignore means : no "shush"-ing, no "Stop!", nothing. Totally ignore him. Everyone else in your house must do the same.
Remember to ONLY give him attention when he's quiet. If I were working on this with a dog, the instant they started to whine, I'd put them in their crate and wait for them to stop, and then try again. There is no short way to get him to stop so please be patient! He will stop doing this eventually. Exercising your dog physically and mentally will be a great help, as will rewarding the behaviors that you DO want!

If you pet him when he whines he will learn that whining will always work to get you to pet him and he will whine more. You will temporarily have to ignore him when he whines, and it probably will get worse for a little while. For a period of time, once he stops whining, stop what you are doing and give him lots of attention. If he whines, stop interacting with him and do something that doesn't include him. But you must be ready to turn and reinforce behavior where he is not whining.

After he gets the idea and is quiet more and more over time, you must still continue to make it worth his while to be quiet, so periodically give him attention if he is playing quietly. But do your best to ignore his whining, even if it is really hard at first.

I sometimes recommend that people set a timer and give their dogs attention every 15 minutes but only if the dog is playing quietly. No need to give attention if he is asleep, and definitely don't give him attention if he is whining. If he's whining when the buzzer sounds, reset it and start over. This can be quite effective.

the respond is easy, supply your doberman extra interest. I actual have had dobermans interior the previous and that they did an analogous element. They love love love interest. Granted the whine is buggy and from time to time you could desire to be to busy yet Dobermans are a breed that look to require consistent interest. they seem to be a astounding and affectionate breed yet with a view to stay that way they truly need the attention and love of a unswerving proprietor.

You have to be firmer with him. When you want to do something else if he bothers you then you should take him outside and leave him there and only let him back when he behaves.

You will have to do this many many times before he gets the message but if he desires your company so much he will certainly do this if you deny him your company each time he whines.

If you can't do this alone, get help there are plenty of people how there who will help with dog training problems. Even the vet may be able to help or recommend somewhere to take him.

Well, you simply teach him to "shush". By letting him dominate you in this way, you need to become the pack leader and use a reprimand to discourage the whining and take control of the situation. As it is, he knows it will get your attention and so he will keep doing it because it gets him what he wants. (just like kids!)

Your dog is very smart,he has learned that his whining. Irritates you and you stop and give him attention..Thus he whines.. Like said above get him a chew toy and when he whines give him that . Not your attention.

when ever he even starts to whine yell in a firm deep commanding voice. NO WHINE. make eye contact when doing this. don't give him any positive attention unless he stops. If he stops then just tell him good boy or good quiet and pet him for a second then go back to what you were doing. If he starts again repeat. It sounds simple but it is affective. You have to be consistent though. you cant be very stern one day and when he starts again be like aww i am sorry i yelled at you. this will get you no where. you have to be dedicated for it to work so good luck!!!! hope this helps!!!!

Something like this happened on the "Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic channel, what Ceasar said to do was to turn around and shush your dog sternly whenever he whines, and if he doesn't stop, then you should put him in his kennel, lock the door, and leave the room until you are finished.
