To be upfront, I own a Toyota Corolla 2006, (+ owned a 1994) and Ford Ranger, 1996 and have owned an Accord too. (1987)
I am not a car freak, but I do read up on the cars in Consumer Reports and USATODAY etc..
Here is what I know, C.R. rated the Fusion, without awd around 6 or 8 out of 20-25 cars listed. Camry was on top. Accord was 3rd or something. The V-6 came in higher than 4 cyl.
James Heally from USA Today test drove a MXK (unsure of the letters?) Lincoln's version of the same cars awd, said it was as good as a Lexus 350? in many to most regards, especially since the Lexus does not come with AWD. He also said it was much much better performance wise than the FWD Fusion he tested earlier. He said quality of AWD is unknown.
I also read, the fusion has lowest cost of quality repairs of all warrantty of Ford vehicles. AWD is from Volvo, same as the freestyle?. Maybe they have something? try one out. But I would want to see a year or 2 track record before I buy,

To greatest the guy above me, the Fusion is interior of an same type because the Camry. they are both mid length. The Corolla and Civic are both compact. Ford's compact is the most concentration. to be able to make issues trouble-free... Compact = Ford concentration, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Mid length = Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry comparing the more suitable Fusion to the smaller Civic and Corolla is doing Ford an excellent disservice. The Fusion is heavier and has a lot less gas mileage simply by the undeniable fact that's larger. that's likewise accessible with a V6 engine that places out round 220 hp. in my opinion, the rumor the Hondas and Toyotas very last continuously is a promotion gimmick used to spice up the charges of their vehicles. Such is clear even as the guy above me can locate a Fusion it truly is on the fringe of the cost of a Civic and Corolla. you'd be puzzling pressed to locate an Accord or Camry everywhere close to the cost of a spotlight. I owned a Honda Civic and characteristic pushed the Corolla, concentration, Cobalt, and Mazda 3. Of all those vehicles, i'd ought to assert the Corolla had the superb gas mileage. notwithstanding, it grow to be also the slowest and maximum cumbersome to rigidity. i will't communicate on behalf of any of them even as it is composed of reliability except the Civic which I had minimum problems with. even as it is composed of mid length, i'd ought to bypass with the Fusion. it truly is were given good comments and is a lot more low-cost in cost than the Accord or Camry. those 2 can now and again get up close to 30,000 new in case you bypass for between the properly line trims.

It is bogus, a CAmry or Accord will kill a Fusion in any test, but the Saturn Aura will beat all of them, and beat competition from Lexus, Acura, BMW and Mercedes to win Car of the Year. That Ford ad is just like their truck ad where it claimes "Most trucks on the road with some amount of miles", the you look at the bottom in the fin print and it says from year 1992 and newer, Dodge claims that from 1982 and newer. Dodge, until the late 90's hasnt even been considered competition, and those few that they sold then now outnumber the well selling F-series with high-mileage. Chevy also claims the longest lasting truck, but I havent seen that ad, and actually caught it in time, but they have the Motor Trend and NACTOY awards to back them up. Ads that say bad things about other cars are only tryinng to hide their faults.

For one thing, it's a Honda Accord, not Civic. What it's saying is that people preferred the Fusion over the Accord and Camry, Yes, Fusion offers AWD, but is priced the same as a FWD Accord or Camry.

The main problem with the advertisement was that we don't know which model of each car they compared. For example, they could have compared the entry level trim levels for the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry and used the top of the line model for the Ford Fusion.

They do say in the commercial that they used the ford awd version and we know that these don't exist for the other two. A distinct advantage. It's a commercial. Take it for what it's worth.
Yes the price is the same as a fwd Camry/Accord but I bet it will be in the shop twice as often and last half as long.
