Pepper. Too much hidden salt in foods that you buy nowadays, and salt retains water. I never use salt anymore, I haven't for several years.

Have to go with the crowd, salt. Salt, while not necessary, is nice on french fries and other stuff. Of course, I am not much of a pepper eater either. But how could u have a salt shaker without the matching pepper shaker? Do they sell just one shaker? Something to look into... how about... a salt shaker... and... Another Salt Shaker!!!

pepper definately unless there was no salt on any food at all because u need salt to survive if that was the case then salt
