I have upgraded my memory and am using pc booster, but it still does it. Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

It's just a buggy program. If you're going to use it, save very frequently.

It's a real-time audio and video editor made my Microsoft for a Windows machine. It's going to crash.

Apples are definetly the choice for amateur video editors. If it's gotta be Windows try Adobe Premier:

When you are doing anything memory intsensive with Windows, shutdown EVERYTHING else. Particularly programs that hide in the task bar, or any "pc booster". Also, if you have to use Windows XP, switch to the Windows Classic Theme (on Desktop, right-click and select Properties)... it's more lightweight.
