Hi there...un-neutered males mark territory with urine spraying. Neutering will resolve this, however this should be done as soon as possible so that it doesn't develop into a habitual pattern which is more difficult to stop even after neutering.
In the meantime, consider purchasing some enzyme cleaner such as Nature's Miracle "Just for Cats" http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441775019&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302025596&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023690&bmUID=1167132360710&itemNo=0&Ntt=nature%27s+miracle+just+for+cats&In=All&previousText=nature%27s+miracle+just+for+cats&N=2 fournd worldwide at most pet stores to clean the urine oldours/stains as cats will continually/repeatedly remark soiled areas. Thoroughly soak the affected areas and then allow to air dry. Repeated applications are necessary for heavily soiled areas.

Has he used the litter box before and is just recently stopped?? If yes, then watch him the next time he needs to go potty. If there is
no urine when he squats it could be a urinary tract problem. I suggest if thats the case to feel his belly. If it feels like a ball that is the urine that can't escape. Take him to the vet and if it isn't serious, you just need to change his diet. I lost a beautiful 6 year old male cat from this but since I had never heard of it, the results were heartbreaking. I don't mean to scare you or anything but this usually happens in neutered males. If you plan to get your male cats neutered make sure you feed them food to prevent urinary tract.

It could mean many things. For example, if the cat has a Urinary Tract Infection she may associate the pain with urination with her litter box. She may feel that the litter is causing the pain. Also, it may be that she was scarred at her litter box, or it may be too dirty. See the vet.

Use a floor cleaner that has enzymes in it to clear the smell of cat urine from carpet (they will be less likely to urinate there again). Most important, buy Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract Cat Litter. It contains a scent inside the litter to attract the cat to use the litter box. Also, your cat may have a urinary tract infection. Though they sell food to help prevent urinary tract infections, once a cat has an urinary tract infection, you need to contact your vet to check the cat. The Dr. Elseyt's cat litter can be found at petsmart for around $12 . Here is a link for the cat litter: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441779416&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302033737&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023690&bmUID=1168820345594&itemNo=12&Nao=12&In=Cat&N=2033737&Ne=2

have you had a cat before that used the same litter box? sometimes if it still has the scent of the other cat on it and the other cats wont go anywhere near it.or it could be that one of the boys has sprayed or peed in or around the box and the other cat doesnt like it.

It should stop when he's neutered, but try putting shredded newspaper in the litterbox. You can also buy spot on spray that discourages spraying (which is what most males do before they are neutered)

He should stop once he's neutered, but to be sure, have the vet check him out. It's possible he could have a urinary tract infection of some sort.
Hope all is okay with him.

Try separate cat boxes for each cat. I show them how to dig in fresh litter with their front paws.

it should stop once he gets neutered. in the meantime, you could keep a spray bottle handy and squirt him with a little water whenever he's about to spray on something other than the litter.

maybe you should try keeping the cat in a closed area, with newspapers and his litter box and food& water, til he starts using his litter box
