it sounds like it's healing nicely. non-severe burns take about 2-3 weeks to completely heal.
if their is a scab over the burn, you can apply a thin layer of vitamin E oil to it a few times a day-this will help to minimize any scarring that might occur. if the burn wasn't too bad-it should go back to normal skin w/no scarring.
if there is no scab quite yet-then just put aloe vera gel on it and keep it clean and dry.
make an appt to see your dr if :
-the burn begins to swell or has increased redness
-it breaks open or begins to drain liquid (pus) of any kind.
-you begin to run a fever of 100.5 or higher
these are all signs of infection and you'll need antibiotics to treat it

I burnt the back of my hand about a year ago. I was ironing a shirt, and the iron fell over on my hand. It was very painful and it looked horrible, but it healed up nicely in about a month. I made sure to keep the wound soft by using lots of hand cream. I also used a cream for diminishing scars once a day. Good luck!

If you have an aloe vera plant, that is wonderful. Otherwise, check your medicine cabinet for pure aloe gel like is used on sun-burns in the summer time. I keep an aloe plant in my kitchen. They suffer all sorts of neglect and survive well. I suggest drinking the juice product as well. (1)
A Living Air Ecoquest purifier has been proven to help heal in burn units.
Honey is used by some as well. (2)

Aloe Vera gel will help best, usually. If you have an aloe plant in your house, it works GREAT! I burned my hand once, it was very painful, but it healed in a month or about 2 1/2 weeks. Good luck.

Yes, but remember, if it blisters, and you put most anything but Silvadine Ointment on it, it will have to come off and that is painful.
Silvadine is the Number one medicine for burns. Many Old Wife's tails talk of toothpaste, butter and such. Cold water to put the fire out, soak your hand in cool water with an ice cube, and put some silvadine cream on the burn.

you could purchase a kit of latex gloves contained in the food market contained in the relatives products section, with information from the mops and brooms. be careful of the products you take advantage of once you're dealing with peppers, too, like the knife you decrease them with, and the reducing board, and any surfaces (countertop), bowls or plates. they're going to carry the oils. Use a paper towel or napkin once you get rid of the gloves so that you do not move the oils on your hands once you get rid of them. Throw them away, do not reuse them, you receives the oils throughout your hands back.
