Girls... to you... what is maturity in a male. im 18, andi believe i am mature, but i like to fool around with my friends. however, when i talk about serious topics, i do not joke around. my girlfriend said i am a bit immature, but im just wondering... what actually is maturity? is it like you dont jokes around with stupid things, or what is it?

Being mature is to understand your boundaries as an adult. You can still joke on stupid things if you don't over due it. You sound pretty mature to me. Being mature isn't about being serious all the time but to know the boundaries.

Maturity is knowing when to play and when to be serious, it's not something you can learn only a way to be. It's something that at one point in your life you'll have to be in order to grow up. Maturity is the difference between handling business and having fun. Being serious all the time doesn't mean you're mature, that means you're a stick in the mud. I used to be one and I thought I was mature...I wasn't.lol Girls mature faster than guys so that's probably why she thinks that. I think that bout every guy in High school, it wasn't true. depends on the age of the girl;
Im 24, of course I fool around with my friends, but I do that with responsability. For me a guy that its mature its someone with brains who acts according to the things he believes in and knows how to react when things are a little complicated; its in control of its emotions and if needed can help in a needy situation; now ask your gf to be more specific and give you an example of what she means by immature, cause her own definition might be unique.

No 18 yr old guy that I know is mature, but it isn't your fault.
Maturity comes with age and even then some guys don't get there.
You probably are more mature then most 18 yr old to even be worried about it. Have fun, but try to be respectful and you will get there don't worry!
