Your stomach muscles are bruised from being sick. You will feel better in a few days. Asperin or Tylenol will help a bit.

yes, situps...BUT... you need to do situps the right way, or you can hurt yourself and then you'll be worse than before. You probably need an exercise mat, if you don't have one, to absorb some of the pressure on your tailbone. lie on you back, bring your knees up, so your feet are flat on the ground. Put your hands behind your head, then bring your shoulders up until your elbows touch your knees. If you can't do that, or you need more repetitions of something easier, then try lying on your back, then lifting your knees and bringing them towards you, bringing your feet off the ground. Holding the weight of your legs off the floor will exercise your abdominal muscles. You can lift one leg at a time. Also, after raising your foot off the floor, you can cross it over the other leg and then bring it back, to give you side-to-side motion. Just plain walking everyday will give your abdomen and back some strength. If you walk in cold weather be sure to wear gloves or mittens, so that you can keep your hands free and your arms loose. Walking with your hands in your pockets will hunch you over (unless the pockets are fairly high up on your jacket), and walking hunched is not going to work. Another thing you can do, that's easy, is playground swings. Some playgrounds have swings strong enough for adults to use. The back-and-forth motion, holding the side chains, leaning forward and back, will exercise your abdomen and thighs. The main thing is to do the exercise regularly. A light exercise that you can do every day is going to help you get started and stick to it. Once you feel more strength, you can increase the effort.

If you press you stomach and the pain is near the surface, it's muscle. The spasms caused by vomiting are intense, causing rips to the muscle fibres which take a few days to heal over. Don't worry about it.

Does eating make a difference to the pain? If it does it might be that all the vomiting irratiated your stomach lining. If so I think it should get better in a day or two, but if it gets really bad you could try taking indigestion tablets.

With the heaving of being sick, you will twist your tummy 'cos you use muscles what you don't normally use they become sore & tired, the lining wears away so you will feel rough. As the lining is damaged, it will cause pain each time it rubs against your tummy as part of the lining isn't thereto protect it. Have something milky, milk builds the lining back, & will soothe the pain. xxx

often when you are sick you get pains in your stomach from straining the muscles, but if it carries on you should see a doctor there may be something else wrong.

you could have strained a stomach muscle, especially if you were violently vomiting. However it could merely be your stomach aching from the action. Give it time, and it will recover perfectly.
