Okay I have a question for you. What are your thoughts on the Christians who tell everybody that isn't Christian that they are going to hell? Do you think they give you a bad name? Also, aren't they not supposed to be judging people, as it's god's job?

I think those people are insane and make every other christian organization even if they arent linked look bad. They shouldnt be scaring away believers but should try to be kind to what they call sinners like Jesus did. He didnt need to help those who already beleived but those who didnt, like the prostitutes.

“Hellfire” has been a basic teaching in Christendom for many centuries. It is understandable why The Encyclopedia Americana (1956, Vol. XIV, p. 81) said: “Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception.” Nevertheless, such transliteration and consistent rendering does enable the Bible student to make an accurate comparison of the texts in which these original words appear and, with open mind, thereby to arrive at a correct understanding of their true significance

I think many believe God wants them to tell people that. I personally believe that people cannot possibly know who will and will not go there and should "speak the truth in love". Some seem to gloat that others are going to hell and that is very unchristian. Yes, they give christians a bad rep an do little good to win someone for Christ.

Yeah I don't like the fire hell and brimstone approach. The saying goes you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. What they are spewing is vinegar and they are not showing the love of God in their lives. It really bugs me and I apologize for their hateful messages. Regardless if you believe in God or not I know he is real and that he loves everyone including those who don't accept him. But that doesn't mean that he will let them into heaven. Good works alone will not get you in, it is only through the acceptance of Christ and his sacrifice that he made. History shows that Jesus was a man and that he did die on a cross. The events in the bible did happen. Simply put I believe that the bible is a pretty accurate history of the known world so therefor it has to have some truth in it as far as God goes.

Religious believe is not same as insanity.

Sadly the christians have verses to back up this my way or highway claim.

Thats why i say christianity is :
- peacefull and pacifist; i.e., non-violence is urged
- intolerant: they firmly believe that if you dont go through christ you are going to the hot place
- in terms of judging people, a christian is NOT supposed to judge an individual person but they still know that if a person rejects chirst their whole life they will go to hell. It is NOT up to the christian to determine who goes up and who goes down, but god. They are told in no uncertain terms to look inward first.

I hope that helps.

By the way im not actually christian but i have exploreerd their path

I think that they have good intentions, but it doesn't make sense that they're basically trying to scare people into Salvation.

I think they give Christians a bad name in the sense that they don't respect other people's beliefs and are trying to force their own beliefs onto them.

I don't think we should be judging other people by their religious beliefs, at least not out loud. Everyone judges, but not in the same way God does. I don't think it can be helped, but no one should go up to a person and tell them that they're going to hell.

Those fellow brethren of mine are top on my prayer list. For whatever reason, I believe they feel superior to their fellows and by virtue of that fact cause almost irreparable harm to the rest of us.

I firmly believe that it is God's love that draws us to him. Only God's Love will establish a lasting relationship with him that grows and matures through the years.

I do not approve of scaring the hell out of non-believers. It is at best a temporary fix.

Judging is God's job, but unfortunately these people see it as their Christian duty to tell the non-believers what they know and the fact is If you are not saved, you will go to hell. Their way of telling someone that is wrong (IMHO) but it is an honest compassion that guides them.

OK if you are going to use scripture against everyone then use the whole thing. Yes Christians arnt suppose to judge anyone but the rest of that verse say that God doing that for them.

anyway back to the question, They arent lying. Christ is the only way to eternal life in heaven. God makes it that way. Sorry but there is no free pass to heaven, God wants you to believe with all of your heart that he is the only thing that can save you from death.( spiritually) By saying that your going to hell ill admit they arent getting the word out in a possitive way but they arent judging you. God bless you!

People who do not believe in the Bible will not be scared by the notion of hell, I do not see why many Christians do not see that. Christians should have more to defend their faith except saying, "You'll go to hell if you don't believe what I say". Only God can send people to hell, but there is no problem in warning people.

The main objective in preaching Christianity is to SAVE PEOPLE FROM HELL. If someone doesn't know this then they don't know anything about Christians.

I don't tell anyone to go to Hell.

I hear non-church going people tell people to go to Hell when they get angry. Some atheists on here have even told me that they thought I would be in Hell when I die because I asked a question that they did not like.

But, of the people that I know who are practicing church-going Christians, I've never heard any of them tell someone to go to Hell.

You can read through all of my past questions and answers if you don't believe that I don't tell people to go to Hell.

Uh huh, good question. Tough answer. Honestly, people aren't supposed to judge other people. And people that walk around telling everyone they are going to hell I won't truely refer to as Christians. People who do not believe in God will go to hell. Jesus Christ said "I am the way truth and the LIFE...No man get's to the Father except by me." Father right there, means Heaven. IF you don't believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior...and that God raised him from the dead...then yeah, your not gonna be in heaven, which means, you will be in hell. Now I am not trying to threaten you with that like some people, or scare you. But it stands to reason, that if you believe in an after life, but don't believe in God, then Jesus pretty much says you ain't gonna be with him. So in one way I am very dissapointed in the people that walk around trying to scare others by saying "YOUR GOING TO HELL" but on the other hand, its based on a true story. Now I am not gonna judge the folks that say that, I am just stating my opion with it. I hope I answered your question
God is a God of love, and a God of amazing gifts...Life is a gift, use it well.
God bless you
