my kitten is almost 5 months old, we got her and her sister from our
local aspca. recently my kitten "fortune" has been having these leg
spasm like things.
she will lay down on her stomache and her back legs will bop up and
down uncontrollably.
i would go to pick her up and her legs would still do the same thing
even in mid air.
Her sister "szechuan" used to do it, but it ended after an hour.

i dont know what to think of this, if it is just somthing apart of
growing into a cat or somthing serious.
she is very uncomfortable.

please help,

It's normal. It happens to me quite often. The farther I get along, the worst it becomes. It's the extra weight you are gaining, fairly rapidly, that makes your leg's muscles to cramp. I would suggest to have more sitting time during the day, lay down when you feel tired on your legs. When it streches out and that it hurts me, I try to make my foot a 90 degree, this way it kind of calms it a bit. Good luck and have a good day!

This is VERY serious. Your cats are having seizures. They are incredibly painful and can result in short term and long term health issues. You need to get them to the vet ASAP so they can prescribe some anti-seizure medication. Pretty easy to give and most animals can live normal lives. If you choose not do to medication it would be kinder to give them to a no-kill shelter that is aware of their condition and will treat it or to put them to sleep.

Take it to a vet or got to the shop/person you got it from. They should know something about it.
