He has been neutered, and it doesn't seem to matter what I do. If I put him in a fence I think he can't get out of he jumps the fence anyway. And if he can't jump the fence he digs under the fence. He is a good dog otherwise. His father was a pure blood golden retriever, and his mother was a mutt.

I see someone just answered with this answer but I will second it, get a invisible fence. I have one installed, and my dog loves it. Watch the video and train it just the way they tell you to, and your pet will love his freedom in your yard. My dog learn the fence fast. He did get zapped maybe two or three times, but it's just enough of a zap to let him know he's doing something wrong.

Have you thought about adding an invisible fence? My mother in law did this and is really helped the dogs stay inside the yard. It doesn't shock them badly, it's a little one and you can change the voltage. If not than maybe it would be best for him to stay inside at night dogs will find a way out if they really want to.

We had a dog that did this. We put chicken wire over the top of the fence so that she couldn't make it over. And we buried chicken wire under the fence so she couldn't dig through. It was a lot of work, but it kept her from digging and jumping.

Spanking her will not stop her permanently and will only make her uneasy around you, so the person who suggested that is ridiculous.

Crate train him.
People often thing that puting a dog in a crate is some sort of cruel punishment. It is not. He should know that crate time is down time and thats just that. If you have questions on how to crate train, ask another question... or I'll edit this one :)
EDIT: Having your dog crate trained is a good idea even if he didnt have this problem. If you had to board him for medical reasons or if you went out of town he'd be in a crate. If you had to evacuate he'd probably need a crate.. In this situation it's a good idea to crate train him so even if he's an outside only dog, on cold rainy nights the crate can sit on the inside of the door.

you can:

1.)tie him up. some people think it is bad to tie a dog up but i tie one very long rope to 2 trees and then put a really long leash and attach it to the rope. he can then run the length of the leash wide and run back and forth between the two trees.

2.)put him in a crate. my dog actually loves his crate. he goes in there by himself at night because its a place of his own.

3.) put barbed wire and cement around the fence. oh and a mote filled with sharks. then a second fence. haha good luck getting out of that one. just kidding but the top 2 are serious.

good luck!!!!!

Take him in the house. If that's not an option, build an enclosed run (with fencing at the top as well) so your dog has room to run back and forth but cannot jump out.

Why can't your dog be in the house?

Your best option is to put him in a kennel at night. It may take him a while to get used to, but it's more difficult to get out of than a fence.

Do you have enough room to put him on a runner? He will be secured at night, then you can let him loose in the day.Is he hunting or has he been doing this forever?Try the runner for a while then he'll get tired and forget he can't get out and stop......Hope this helps.

in case you won't be in a position to cope with your canine having loose reign of your place then do not supply it to her. Get her a canine pillow and place it interior the kitchen, bathing room, or any room and positioned a toddler gate up so she cant get out. i don't know how her getting on the settee stinks it up if she is bathed generally. you additionally can by canine freshening spray to spray her between baths or rub a dryer sheet on her and make her scent extra advantageous.
