I agree. It does seem like everyone, no matter their race (I'm white by the way), wants straight hair. I can't speak for everyone but one of the main reasons I straighten my hair is because it just looks better that way. I have thin curly hair and no matter what I seem to do it always looks frizzy and dull. It's hard for a woman with thin hair to maintain a curly look without it looking frizzy but yet looking voluminous at the same time. When I straighten my hair it looks thicker, fuller and shinier and it's just plain easier to fool with.

A Gabbi, I straighten mine to make it more manageable. Wasn't my choice at first, My Mother started straightening my hair at a very young age. I continued to straighten it as I got older because it was easier to comb. My hair is a cross between curly and wavy.

Because its easyier to manage and can be more flattering to some people. As well as vanity. If your hair is straight your less likly to get frizz in public that can make you looke like you just got out of bed. But i dont think everyone wants this.

I'm mostly Asian, and I have pretty straight hair naturally. I just straighten it so that it's not frizzy, and it's easier for me to straighten it, as opposed to curling it, because my hair doesn't curl easily.

And who said everyone wants straight hair? I would love to have naturally curly hair.

Basically, people with straight hair want curly hair, and vice versa.

My hair is thick and straighter than a nail. It will only hold a curl for about 2 hours. My stylist says get used to it. so all I can do is get a flattering hair cut to manage it. I just wish there was alittle body in it.

I straighten my hair because it can get kind of frizzy on bad hair days, and I am not that good at curling my hair or keeping it curly without getting frizzy hair. its just easier for me

My opinion is that people want straight hair because it's easier to do stuff with and it looks really good if it's straight and down.
