I'm glad you asked this--it will save you a lot of grief to ask this early. The best way to find out is to ask him directly. Different dioscese have different rules about this. Most will only allow priests to perform weddings within a Church or on Church grounds; however, the "new thing" is to allow them to perform them in a place that has been blessed by a Catholic priest/bishop. Not many dioscese are allowing this yet.
Be sure to do research on the other rules as well--especially the rules on pre-marital counseling. My dioscese wanted me to drive 2 hours every weekend for 8 weeks to attend counseling. Make sure you can make everything work for you.
Good luck and congrats!

I had this same question! There is no rule disallowing a mass to be performed outside of a church (masses are celebrated on the beach near me quite frequently), but the rules governing weddings can vary depending on your diocese. Some allow it, some don't, and some leave it up to the discretion of the priest performing the ceremony. I would either check with your priest, or if you don't have an officiant yet, call the diocese. They usually have a number for questions about marriage/family related questions on their website.

It depends where you are from. I'm from massachusetts and my diocese does not allow it. I had a hard time and asked every priest I could find, but they can't do it if the diocese doesn't allow it. I found a congressional church and a baptist church that would do it but I ended up booking a catholic church.

I think it really depends on the rules of the diocese, the only way to know for sure is to just ask him. Even if it's "against" the rules, maybe an exception could be made since he is a family member. Again, it will totally depend on how strict your diocese is on this type of stuff.

I don't think he can perform the ceremony. Just ask him. I'm sure he knows the answer
